We then go along Research Station Road, Stock Route Road and complete the circuit back into town along Weaber Plains Road. One gate had Glossy Ibis, Pied Heron, White-faced Heron, Little Pied Cormorant and Cattle Egrets all roosting together. Closer to the research centre we discovered a flock of over 150 Brolga walking through one of the recently harvested crops. Crocodiles may inhabit the irrigation channels and swimming is not advised!

ForestPuffin was targeting this species as it is very habitat dependent and, unbeknownst to me, such habitat exists within a big stone’s throw of my house. During this time the chrysalis is constantly attended by the ants and it is thought unlikely that the species would be able to survive without the ants’ ministration.
