Tawny Frogmouths breeding again

We are very lucky that here in Broome we have Tawny Frogmouths right in town. I walked slowly around the tree and then left them to have a quiet day in the park before they go hunting at night. One of the adult Tawny Frogmouths appears to be blind in its right eye. Tawny Frogmouth with an odd right eye.

Cypriot Delights: Part I

Once considered a distinct race of the more widespread Pied Wheatear, it is now regarded as a full species in its own right. One September I watched a pack of seven Eleonora’s hunting a juvenile Swift. The song is highly distinctive.
