It would love to read more about the ethical considerations that go into using playback for research purposes and how federal rules against playback affect research design. As most birders know, playback is controversial in the birding world.

They frequently reuse nest holes, thus saving vital natural resources even though cleaning out the used nest hole takes about one week ( source ). A kingfisher with a somewhat deficient work ethic, I guess. The hornbills of Sukau are featured in a separate post – they are one of the main attractions of this location though.
