With regard to cruelty and suffering, it's clear from the film that the human animal has been profoundly negatively affected by climate change, but there is no attention given to nonhuman animals. There was no meaningful discussion about our inefficient use of resources (grain and water) in the feeding of animals to kill to feed people.

Besides, suffering brings birds, right? I moped all the way to Coney Island where I drove with my family on an outing to the New York Aquarium. Well, I did see a bunch of year birds but they were almost all shorebirds. Both Greater Yellowlegs and Lesser Yellowlegs , a Willet , and two Pectoral Sandpipers. What a horrific result!

The Plain Sunbird is the plain vanilla version of the otherwise often very colorful family (ok, a very low-budget sort of joke). One paper suggests that the Ruby-cheeked Sunbird primarily feeds on insects rather than on nectar, the more common food of sunbirds. It deserves a lot better than being caught and locked in a cage.

Swamp Harrier There are still a lot of fish present, especially in the culverts that run under the highway and the Egrets and Herons continue to take advantage of the ample food. White-necked Heron Little Egret Australian Pelicans have arrived to feed on the fish and can be observed very close to the highway.

This young Western Gull seems to have no idea what to make of this Mola Mola (Ocean Sunfish), or perhaps it prefers the company of unusual fish. My brother suffered from some pretty bad allergies while we were growing up, so a dog was never an option for my family. I’ve pet-sat many times since then for a variety of different dogs, cats, fish and really anything else that needed to be fed.
