This woman, who I now mentally call "THE VIVISECTOR," defended medical research. The descriptions of the research subjects are very roundabout, but still horrific to me.

I was pretty sure it was fake from the get-go, because who brings their baby to a golf course in Montreal to bait eagles? Experts and bloggers agree that this has in all probability never actually happened , although the Institute of Creation “Research” and the Scottish Gamekeepers Association are a bit more open to the claim.

Of course, I jest a bit in the above paragraph because as a sometime New Jersey birder I have birded the Delaware Bay and seen sights such as the memorable image below, in which thousands of Red Knots, Dunlins, and Short-billed Dowitchers fly up as if connected telepathically. Now, any medication we take and surgical procedures we undergo also have a long line of breeding, enslavement, torture and killing of sentient nonhumans leading up to them, so objecting to "knockout animals" on those grounds is to stand on somewhat thin ice. My objection is: Why do such research when you don't need to?

I'll think about it as I research cameras. As for neighbors, a couple of years ago I wrote about how my next-door neighbor's daughter, who is in medical school, visited her parents and brought a puppy (Izzy) from a pet store with her. She declined my increasing dollar offers. It's not as if the dog was attacking the child.
