So we just had a baby owl sadly die in our backyard. We just noticed the owl in it yesterday. Weve been seeing a giant crow getting close to it all day today and many other birds have been fighting it off. It was in a hole in our oaktree that we think a woodpecker made weeks ago.

Dimmy, whose name has been changed to protect the guilty, was driving down the Saw Mill Parkway, north of New York City, when she hit a large bird. She stopped the car, got out, looked at the front of her Hyundai SUV, and found a live Barred Owl stuck in the grill. Leaving the injured owl in her car’s grill. I kid you not.

This little Eastern Screech-Owl arrived sometime thereafter, and, no doubt, has regretted it every day for the last six months. A woman walking her dog discovered the owl and alerted the farmer, who called a local wildlife hotline. At first Lisa Acton, the New York rehabilitator who took the owl in, thought he was dead.
