She lets me pet her but not for long before she walks off somewhere. About 20 minutes ago I just went through a pretty messy and emotional mess of a breakup. So I have a golden retriever 4 years old and she’s very much not affectionate. She will walk away from me when I try to hug her. Even when I cry she will sigh and walk off.

I have never had a bond this strong with anyone, animal or person. This dog is not just a dog, she is hyper intelligent and responds to my emotions, she can read and respond to WRITTEN English commands. I just love her so much, she is more than just a “pet”. So she was mine, for free. However, I didn’t know what I was in for.

This was illegal, because according to FWC regulations, if you already own a pet that has been deemed invasive or illegal, you are allowed to keep it until its natural death, and it will not be confiscated or euthanized. Reptiles that are not treated ethically simply do not make good pets.
