Leucistic Ruddy Duck Oxyura jamaicensis

What I am getting at here is that I have seen lots and lots of Ruddy Ducks at Jamaica Bay but never one that looked like this particular individual. She was essentially cream-colored, much lighter than the typical female Ruddy Duck. Anyway, enjoy the images and keep an eye out for odd ducks! Get yours today! Thanks, Corey!

Not too many highlights, not too many species … hard to say whether this is just the usual nostalgia for a better but probably nonexistent past or a real phenomenon. Their strong presence here at Nanhui in combination with their highly threatened status should be a good argument to protect Nanhui better.
