Two Birds

10,000 Birds

Here`s another entry in the category “Rejected topics for bird-related coffee table books”, following my recent “Blue Birds” post. With remarkable accuracy, each of the photos below shows exactly two birds. Almost abstract bird patterns. Collared Finchbill (Zhenjiang, China, Oct 2015).

Birding Singapore

10,000 Birds

The only bird-related activity I can think of is looking at bird photos I took in Singapore in 2015, and adding some irrelevant comments to them. Presumably, birds living in Singapore do not understand German. Seeing a Rufous Woodpecker for the first time, I thought it looked kind of weird. “Odd, me?”

Some common birds of Shennongjia, China

10,000 Birds

The photos in this post were taken in 2015 and 2016 – I was not only an amazingly attractive, almost young person then, but also a surprisingly bad photographer. I also only managed to see rather common bird species at Shennongjia, a nature reserve in Hubei province, China. A bit of kindness in naming birds could go a long way.

Birding Inner Mongolia

10,000 Birds

(Note: this post refers to a trip I took a long time ago, in 2015. So, to claim that I birded Inner Mongolia is a massive exaggeration. Let’s move to the birds). Given that the Great Spotted Woodpecker can also be seen in Shanghai, it was hardly necessary to pursue it in Inner Mongolia at -20 degrees Celsius.
