Does anyone know what animal is causing these holes in cherry pits ?

For context, my neighbour has a cherry tree basically right next to us. Wondering if it’s rodents, birds, ants ??? Lately I’ve been finding these pit remains on my porch stashed away between the stones and I’ve noticed little holes in the pits! Any help is greatly appreciated !

Keep finding decapitated mice/rats under car

The rodent has been dismembered in some way, but it doesn't appear to have been eaten at all. None of this fauna makes sense to me as something that would repeatedly catch rodents, climb into the undercarriage of a medium size suv, tear the rodent apart, and then leave the corpse, sometimes forcing the body parts through holes.

A winter miscellany

So though I visited Lynford, I didn’t see a Hawfinch on this occasion as I wasn’t there at the right time, though I did meet a number of hopeful Hawfinch hunters (HHHs), none of whom reported a sighting. Sadly, many fail, as the finches favour the hornbeams for roosting, so are best seen at dawn or dusk, rarely in the middle of the day.

The Barn Swallow at right was rescued by Rebecca Dmytryk of Wildlife Emergency Services in Moss Landing, California, and transferred to Native Songbird Care and Conservation in Sebastopol.
