Brown Pelicans , and the northernmost Brown Booby breeding colony on this side of the Pacific. Ringer Anhingas and darters , cormorants and shags , frigatebirds , gannets and boobies , pelicans , and the tropicbirds all share a characteristic found in no other living bird: Their feet are totipalmate. Wicked, right?

Not sure that I impressed them, I chose to bluff them and looked left and right for a suitable tree branch to pick. Those bears live in the wild and are not used to humans. Pelican, Pelecanus spp. Attempting to bluff the bear in believing that they were even bigger bears, Hoshino suggested raising their hands, to appear taller.

Hopping almost right next to me, I later identified it as the Boat-tailed Grackle ! Their wedding, which was beautiful, was held right on the beach. Brown Pelicans swooped overhead and I spotted two Ospreys nesting on top of a light pole across the street. Though they are common in Florida, this was the first I had ever seen.
