Nisqually Wildlife Refuge. Nearly 800 acres of wetlands and tidal flats provide diverse habitat for the local birds, as well as large numbers of migratory species, including thousands of ducks and geese. I did however, make every possible effort to turn this bit of moss and leaves in to an owl, but not much luck there either.

Around thirty miles from Missoula in the Bitterroot Valley lies the Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge. A second pond held not only more of the same, but some American Coots and Canada Geese. At last we plunged into the woods, hoping for Great Horned Owls. Fish and Wildlife Service a. Most welcome.
