Even Peter Singer would eat these cows, assuming he had a taste for beef, which he probably doesn’t. On Friday, June 25, I received a call from an attorney who said a little girl was born the evening prior, her adoption fell through and she needed a family. As long as the animals aren't on a farm or otherwise being used by humans, I love the idea of animals in the lives of babies. And on Sunday, June 27, we brought her home!

We give them human names and provide them with the same amenities we enjoy as humans. I don't think anyone is campaigning for "farm" animals to become pets, as many of us don't even think the family cat should be the family cat. We have a tendency as a society to anthropomorphize our animals, especially our pets.
