Mottled Duck ? May – Migration’s Peak and Breeding Begins. Then I slowed down a bit but still found an insanely good bird for Queens , chased a rare duck , went out to Montauk , saw a pelican , and nabbed a good goose in the Bronx. Oh, and there were mammals too. Florida Scrub Jay ? Check and check.

There was a breeding pair at Binjiang Forest Park this June. A pair of Grey-capped Greenfinches seemed to be collecting nesting material – I thought it is a bit late but the HBW states that their breeding season is Mar–Aug and that they have two broods. The one for bird photographers (a Spot-billed Duck ) is shown below.
