I read an article last week about a series of cat killings and mutilations (20 total) in south Florida. He's charged with 19 counts of animal cruelty, 19 counts of improperly disposing of an animal body and four counts of burglary. Tags: animal cruelty. Just awful.

Most of their animals get put down. Researchers told the Tribune that the testing gave the shelter animals "a second chance at life," while records obtained by the Tribune revealed that the labs had killed 116 of the 190 strays last year. Only 74 animals survived the research process to be adopted out as pets.

Animal rights activists stretched a 60-foot banner across the Hawthorne Bridge {Saturday} morning targeting the Oregon National Primate Research Center at OHSU. In support of National Primate Liberation Week, the Portland Animal Defense League hung a banner that read "OHSU: Stop Killing Monkeys Now!" From Oregonlive.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's new budget is calling for the euthanization of animals after only three days. It's not the animals' fault that they have found themselves in this situation. It's the constant and conscious culture of killing animals in this society that I absolutely hate.
