So I was delighted when the Seminary grounds turned out to host at least 6 of these beautiful birds. Alas, this little lovely perched on a wire just outside the window of the classroom where I was teaching at the moment, so no photos were taken. We were happy to experience three birds of prey on this jaunt.

Best Bird of the Weekend (Second of June 2020)

Alas, I didn’t locate any but found enjoyment in a prolonged standoff between mobbing Red-eyed Vireos and a Blue Jay who refused to take the hint. Corey got out looking for birds at Jamaica Bay on Sunday morning and is he ever glad he did! What was your best bird of the weekend? How about you?

Best Bird of the Weekend (Third of March 2020)

Then again, you may have passed Saturday and Sunday in quite the same way you spend all your weekends: looking at birds and communing with nature. Alas, the pickings were slim apart from one freezing raptor counter. Corey got out a bit on Saturday morning in the midst of the Corona Virus quarantine to do a bit of birding on the coast.
