Birding in Nanhui, Shanghai in October 2019

10,000 Birds

So, this post just shows 25 birds I spotted at Nanhui (coastal Shanghai) in October 2019. The Chestnut Bunting is quite a beauty, particularly when seen from the right angle. Not that easy to spot outside of the breeding season, though relatively quite common. Sometimes I am tired of words, tired of writing.

Z. Alexander Brown: Uncaged – Cabernet Sauvignon (2017)

10,000 Birds

Pied Oystercatcher chicks two weeks on….

10,000 Birds

We have observed the first Pied Oystercatcher chicks of 2019 over the past two weeks grow steadily. It is quite common for several clutches of Pied Oystercatcher eggs to be laid during the breeding season and often within ten days of egg or chick loss. You can also see that the legs of the chicks are almost as wide as the adults!

Birds of Belize & Birds of Costa Rica: A Field Guide Review Doubleheader

10,000 Birds

Yet they also bring up questions, which I’m going to talk about right now before diving into the specifics of the guides themselves. I think we do have the right to expect that artwork and species descriptions when repeated are current, reflect recent studies and taxonomic thought. © 2023 by Steve N. Not every bird.
