As much as I dig the biodiversity, experiencing the constant production and growth and profusion of life at all levels, I grew up in much colder places. The birds also feel it and they tend to take shelter but the high mountain species are also used to it, they still call, they still come out to play, even quetzals!

Adopt a shelter pet stamps from the postal service were just revealed on the Ellen DeGeneres Show! The 44-cent stamps feature photos of five cats and five dogs who were all adopted from shelters. The sad fact is that every year, 6 million to 8 million cats and dogs enter animal shelters and, of that number, nearly half are euthanized.
