Due to the plethora of bird species around, invariably we were to experience something breathtaking. Whether the courtship efforts of the Green Kingfisher or a showdown between Muscovy Ducks , birds continued to carry out their business unconcerned of human eyes. They all coexist harmoniously, apart from the fish perspective that is.

It proved strong enough to take the many knocks and falls that a hard-used scope experiences during its lifetime. Perhaps it’s a basic human desire to dress things up.) I tried many times with varying degrees of success – the Dalmatian Pelicans ( below ) were one of my better efforts.

Its amazing to me that there are still places on earth where wildlife is blissfully unafraid of humans. Lastly, due to its previous inaccessibility to humans and the absence of natural predators, the wildlife is bizarrely unafraid of humans, allowing for a truly unforgettable experience.

I don’t really know – from my own experience with school bullies or from Jack London’s novels? Those bears live in the wild and are not used to humans. Pelican, Pelecanus spp. I was in primary school then, probably early grades, but I knew that whatever I do, I cannot afford to turn my back to them. How did I know that?

Multitudes, hundreds of Brown Pelicans and Terns–Least, Common, Foster’s, Sandwich, Royal, and Caspian. They did flush eventually, but not because of humans. This was the High Island Experience, I was told. Surprisingly, the Avocet area was not fenced off. I imagined walking right up to them. It was amazing.
