Dirt hawking is a form of falconry that involves hunting rabbits and other small game with Harris Hawks (other hawk species also qualify). One of those species, the Forty-spotted Pardalote , is found only in a small part of Tasmania. It was, recently, pardaoltes that got me thinking about this. What a treat!

There is also a book available regarding the amazing birds that have been recorded on Holy Island and it adds up to 330 species and they are still counting!
