In a brief tour of a particular biotech research company, I was taken to the animal lab. They did not experiment on primates (I asked!), It wasn't a full-fledged tour, but disturbing nonetheless. I can't really talk about what I do except that I work in government. but did experiment on mice and guinea pigs.

I went to someone's house and found out that a friend of theirs works for the University of Washington Primate Center, a horrific place with a TERRIBLE reputation for treatment of animal subjects. I've been with the group for a while and it's not bad.

This young Western Gull seems to have no idea what to make of this Mola Mola (Ocean Sunfish), or perhaps it prefers the company of unusual fish.
