Well, this doesn’t seem to make much sense : The Port Authority doesn’t give a hoot about the lives of snowy owls. The agency that oversees the city’s airports has added the majestic snowy owl to the list of birds it kills to protect airplanes from bird strikes.

We walked some of the trails at the reserve, and I had spotted a large bird hovering in mid-air, almost like a helicopter, just with more flapping. Peering through my binoculars, I saw a white bird with black spots on the undersides of the wings. Life-bird for me! Historic buildings at Elkhorn Slough.

So we just had a baby owl sadly die in our backyard. We just noticed the owl in it yesterday. Weve been seeing a giant crow getting close to it all day today and many other birds have been fighting it off. Is there anything I can do to protect these babies from predators when I spot them next time.
