I greatly enjoyed reading these articles on diverse topics such as suet, nyjer seed, the development of humming-bird feeders, rarities at feeders, wild bird feeding in Latin America and the Caribbean, and, importantly, “funding for birds and wildlife.”

Dan is an active member of BirdLife Cyprus and goes birding whenever his career and family allow. This clearly showed Mayr’s grandeur: very shortly before he passed away at the age of 100, he saw one of his most important research hypotheses proven wrong. Most people would have stubbornly denied it, or refused to comment.
