I’m considering putting a litter box outside for four homeless neighborhood cats. My household and two others care for these cats. There are raccoons that come through if I don’t remove and clean up the food every day. I’m wondering if a litter box would also cause the raccoons to come through to scavenge, or no.

my cat went missing 4 days ago. my cat is fully indoors but was taken in as a stray (2 years ago) so she does have some knowledge of outdoor living. the thing is that there are many raccoons that linger near my building and rummage through the trash. my cat went missing 4 days ago.

Our cat, "Milo", is an indoor/outdoor cat, who was also somewhat raised with an opossum ("Tino"). I heard what was like a raccoon fight about four weeks ago, during a heavy rainstorm. So, tonight, "Milo" takes off again, and a short time later I hear what sounds like a raccoon fight.
