A couple locally uncommon and well-documented species are all it takes to put yourself on the path to trustworthiness. Even with photos, you’d better be sure I was happy when someone came along and found it again.

We drove on closed highways; we crossed small sections of the Gulf, or bays behind barrier islands, in small craft. Magnificent Frigatebirds were everywhere. Imagine, though, the chances of being killed in a helicopter by a frigatebird!
