There has been one for the last couple winters at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, but I don’t think anyone has gotten as close to it as I got to the one at the Queens Zoo. Before dawn we were walking through the dark forest at the Greentree Preserve hoping for a Great Horned Owl or an Eastern Screech-Owl. Our Great Horned Owl !
