Sadly, the numbers of Falcated Duck are similarly declining – it is thus listed as Near Threatened. Meanwhile, on Chongming island, I rescued a Northern Shoveler which got caught in one of these evil, almost invisible strings that the farmers use to protect their fields from hungry birds.
