The Seattle Seahawks are, of course, a professional (American) football team, known as much for the inability to win it all as for anything else. Seahawks in Seattle! And though seeing the nest was nice it was even more of a treat to have one of the birds do a fly-by nearly right over our heads!

Over the last weekend, my wife and I made a whirl-wind trip from Mexico, up to the Pacific Northwest, the Seattle area, where we stayed with the in-laws. They have a nice large back yard, complete with a variety of bird feeders, and a fence that backs right up to a Green Belt.

The the mid year winners are….

This Great Blue Heron was found up near Seattle this winter, and I was as cold as this birds looks to be! This male hoped right up on the side of my hide. This Song Sparrow was in the Seattle area last winter, and got so nicely framed with the local foliage. It moved quickly to the list of my all time favorites.
