As of mid-November 2021, the Collaborative had submitted more than 4,200 checklists (up from 1,700 in 2018) and has observed 691 species in the United States (up from 618). The Collaborative has also added six states. Two of these are new to the 100+ list.

I am familiar with the shorebird banding program in Peru, as the programs is run by CORBIDI, a small non-government organization (NGO) dedicated to the study and conservation of birds, other wildlife, and their habitats. Notice the green flag indicating this birds was banded in the United States.

Fish and Wildlife Service has listed the “Rufa” population of Red Knot ( Calidris canutus rufa ) as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). In the spring, key staging and stopover areas include Patagonia, Argentina; eastern and northern Brazil; the southeast United States; the Virginia barrier islands; and Delaware Bay.
