Although I love dogs they're too dependent on humans, it's true that stray/feral dogs can form packs and survive in the wild a regular dog like a golden retriever would get eaten by a lion instantly. They are much more independent and still behave similarly to wild cats they are still pets and rely on humans to survive.

I had long yearned of seeing a wild Harpy Eagle and was genuinely thrilled to hear about an active nest not too far from where we would be staying. Selfishly, I was a bit disappointed that the lack of water turned our two-hour commute via river to see the nest of the mighty Harpy Eagle into a no-go. And waited. No birds yet.

Some weeks ago, I elaborated on some of my experiences on the eastern and southeastern ends. A Cocoi Heron flew over, presumably looking for a place to mount the classic sit-and-wait but instead found human observers. Eagle eyes found this Pinnated Bittern in the reeds. Four juvenile American Flamingoes were a welcome surprise.
