Located in Florida: Today I was walking my dogs and noticed a big gathering of vultures surrounding a raccoon. At first appearance the raccoon seemed disoriented and extremely lethargic. I took the raccoon home. I assumed it was either sick or extremely dehydrated.

One might think that thanks to the Internet, all those ridiculous old wild animal myths handed down for generations would finally die a deserved death. If you see a raccoon during the day, it must have rabies! Raccoons are nocturnal, which means they are normally active at night. The same goes for raccoons. Arrrghhh!”

We do have a possum and a raccoon that live somewhere on the property. the last part is raptor behavior but I can't imagine what kind of bird would be small enough to choose this space when there's 300 yds of chain link fence right there, and I've yet to see a dead squirrel, rabbit or chipmunk.
