The same sad story is repeated in all corners of the world and our forests continue to disappear at alarming rates. I plan to visit this forest to evaluate the results of this government decision.

Since discovering our first Pied Oystercatcher nest on Cable Beach in July 2000 we have observed the breeding of these local shorebirds along the coast between Gantheaume Point in the south and Willie Creek in the north, which is a distance of 23 kilometres. Pied Oystercatcher nest close to high tide and with added protection.

I had my first swim with Inshore Bottlenose Dolphins in Northland’s Bay of Islands back in 2000, and it was a tripy experience. They know their stuff, care about the dolphins, and give a portion of the profits to help protect the species, which, by the way, recently got a no-take zone where we saw them!
