We soon positioned ourselves in the shelter to watch the birdlife and there was no denying it was a hot and dry day and the shade was appreciated.

The wind was just too much and they sheltered together in the vegetation at the high tide mark. In the photo above there is one chick trying to avoid the wind under the vegetation to the right of the tail of the Pied Oystercatcher on the left. Pied Oystercatcher chick sheltering from the wind.

Eastern Bluebirds called from the branches above my head, while Ruby-crowned Kinglets buzzed in the holly bush a few yards to my right. Normally, when someone asks about this particular hobby I tell them definitively that I am a “birder.” The emphasis was on discovery.

All I know is that the majority of vegetarians, ex-vegetarians, animal rights supporters, animal rescuers, animal shelter volunteers, and feral cat colony stewards that I know are women. That doesn't mean that I don't know thoughtful men who think about these issues, just that I've noticed the tendencies are definitely lopsided.

Well that depends on several factors, the most important of which are the definitions of the terms “remote” and “endemic” My subjective thoughts on remoteness are that the term should be defined by two factors: 1. Let’s explore some of these far-off places and the birds that find shelter here.

The right app can provide more focused, reputable information than a Google search, and they’re available on hand, whenever you need them. When you’re in the beginning stages of adopting a pet, the choice can be nerve-wracking, and going to the shelter without a plan is like going to the grocery store on an empty stomach.

The same weakness is found in The Feather Thief (2018), a book similarly about an obsessive thief with flexible boundaries of right and wrong. And, in some weird coincidence that won’t be believed if it makes to the movie (there’s got to be a movie, right?), So, that final dot is left in limbo.
