Birding Thailand: Doi Lang

10,000 Birds

Nearly every country or region has an area on its periphery that regularly attracts a tantalizing assortment of vagrants or a set of species that just barely make it over an international border. For others, it is the desire to have a different birding experience from home without needing a passport.

10,000 Birds

Given that according to the HBW, the species prefers dense primary and secondary montane forests, the note that the bird also forages among kitchen waste (in the same HBW entry) seems somewhat incongruous. Birding 8500ft above Thailand (Doi Inthanon National Park)

10,000 Birds

This is how it looks like: Or at sunset: A species I did not come for from Shanghai is the Black-crowned Night Heron. Different perspectives.

Birding Singapore

10,000 Birds

The only bird-related activity I can think of is looking at bird photos I took in Singapore in 2015, and adding some irrelevant comments to them. Presumably, birds living in Singapore do not understand German. Writing this post, I have been in lockdown in my Shanghai compound for 60 days. “Odd, me?”
