The Effects of Wildfires on Wildlife

Birds are able to fly away, but their nests and eggs can be destroyed. Since their habitat has been destroyed, wildlife become displaced and must spend more time searching for food, water and shelter. I was able to visualize six of the bird houses that survived. Some animals are injured and killed by wildfires.

Sam Lena Park, Tucson, Arizona

In my continuing tour of the many sites for birding here in the Tucson, Arizona area, I have run across the Sam Lena Park, and athletic complex. Cattails line parts of the ponds, all of this giving shelter to a very nice variety of birds. One of my “First of Year” birds for Arizona was this lovely Yellow Warbler.
