You are sure to find a favorite character among the animals, and the people, in the story. It’s a fun read for anyone who loves animals and humor.

And now that I've read Animal Equality and begun Speciesism , I think I know why. Dunayer devotes a chapter each to the language used in hunting, zoos, "marine parks," vivisection and "animal agriculture."

He'll be donating it to a zoo or a wildlife preserve. But children and animals seem to bring out a softer side. He was visiting a wildlife preserve in Russia's Far East and shot the 5-year-old tiger as part of a program to track the rare cats, also known as the Siberian, Amur or Manchurian tiger.

As our Gypsy comes to a halt, one Oriental Honey Buzzard is investigating the new arrivals.

Well, Copenhagen Zoo is back in the news; a few weeks after killing a giraffe and feeding it to some lions, it went and killed some of those same lions. I’m not gong to go into the ethics and reasons behind why a zoo might want to, well, manage its stock. Losing a few non-breeding lions in zoos a great deal less.

It seems that quite a few zoos keep Tawny Frogmouths. When these birds breed, this can lead to highly cringeworthy announcements, for example from Adelaide Zoo : “We have egg-citing news!” ” Of course, as a certified cat person, I was delighted to see a Green Catbird near Brisbane.

The Giant Laughingthrush is a bit of a disappointment in that it is not really big enough to eat you (or even a pet cat), even though that is what one would expect from an animal with the Giant part in its name. Wasted effort from the viewpoint of the tree, and a reason why many of these trees are rather fond of cats.

We were presented with animals to eat and wear. We were presented with animal bodies to celebrate over at holidays. Animal skin to wear on our feet. Essentially, my parents made me eat and wear dead animals. I grew up respecting dogs and cats, but not other animals. We ate and wore them.
