Following on from the sad loss of our first Pied Oystercatcher chick of 2020 the other eggs are now also hatching. Although the following photo does not show the full features of the adult I do like it, because both chicks had their right feet up at the same time! Pied Oystercatcher chicks with right feet up!

Third Time’s a Charm

I achieved five lifers in Michoacán in 2019, four in 2020, three in 2021, and only two in 2022. And this one’s was definitely when a bird briefly took wing just to the left of our path, only to settle right back down to the ground. As you can see, this is not a promising trend. But every outing has its high point.
