Sandringham to Mordialloc along the coast

The weather was particularly cold when we took the train to Sandringham to start our walk south and we wore several layers of clothing, waterproof layers and carried a hot drink. Below is the view looking towards the city of Melbourne, which is about 30 minutes away by train. The tide was in and the weather was wet and cold.

Burra Rock Conservation Reserve

The timber cutters lived in bush camps along the woodlines and with some ingenuity they built an eleven million gallon dam to provide water to the woodline steam trains. There were also fresh Emu tracks present, but we did not actually observe one at Burra Rock Conservation Reserve during our visit. Chestnut-backed Quail-thrush.
