Are animals naturally “cruel”, or is it a behavior learned from humand?

Reddit Animals

I know feral dogs do sport hunts and there was a recorded primate war, but as far as I’m aware, the feral dogs were either directly owned or descended by dogs owned by humans, and the primate war was started by human interferance of food being given to the primates by researchers.

Birding Tanjung Aru Beach, Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia

10,000 Birds

The HBW describes the population of the Blue-naped Parrot at Kota Kinabalu as feral – sounds a bit harsh to me given the proximity of Kota Kinabalu to those areas where the species is deemed a proper resident. The Birds of Trinidad and Tobago: Two Guides, One Book Review

10,000 Birds

A little bit of research when I got home unraveled the ways of publishers here and in Great Britain.
