There were plenty of other ducks present and they included Eurasian Wigeon , Common Shelduck and Tufted Ducks. The following morning we were up early to make a crossing and were delighted to see a Grey Seal lounging around beside the causeway and another actually on the causeway, which soon moved for pedestrians!

Besides founding 10,000 Birds and I and the Bird , Mike has also created a number of other entertaining sites and resources, particularly the Nature Blog Network. I see Kure was also badly hit. Not good.

Doolena Gorge is approximately 40 kilometres/ 25 miles from Marble Bar on the main sealed highway. On the water were Grey Teal , Pacific Black Ducks and Australian Wood Ducks. The ducks included Grey Teal , Hardheads and Pacific Black Ducks. We were soon welcomed to the area by Magpie-larks and Galahs.

The National Park is unusual because it offers very few facilities compared to most, but there is a sealed road right into the small car park and a shade shelter with a table and chairs and information about the park. The Silver Gulls, Caspian, Gull-billed and Whiskered Terns were further away and the variety of ducks was incredible.
