Unfortunately we have only ever seen dead Barn Owls in the Broome area and one day it would be nice to see a bird hunting over the land. The road was under water in three sections and the Masked Lapwings and Black-winged Stilts were using the clarity of the water over the sealed road and the lack of hiding places to their advantage.

There were plenty of other ducks present and they included Eurasian Wigeon , Common Shelduck and Tufted Ducks. It was hunting season and the men appeared to be mostly targeting the Eurasian Wigeon. The ducks need to take note of this map! Common Eider were visibly feeding as the water dropped back from the causeway.
