Keep finding decapitated mice/rats under car

Lots of squirrels, chipmunks, deer, rabbits. but that's pretty much it for mammals. the last part is raptor behavior but I can't imagine what kind of bird would be small enough to choose this space when there's 300 yds of chain link fence right there, and I've yet to see a dead squirrel, rabbit or chipmunk.

Rabbits were introduced to the island by guano miners, which turned the previously verdant island into a giant sand dune; almost all vegetation was wiped out. A species, wiped off the earth, never to exist again. What a horror!
