I also wanted you to know about the Who’s Your Good Dog Campaign. My second favorite rescue story is that of Hunter, a beagle-ish dog that my daughter and son-in-law adopted from a shelter in Massachusetts. Turns out even though they knew that Hunter had found his forever home, he didn’t know it. It already has me drawn in!

Fuller’s astonishment at locating this “grail of extinct-bird photograph hunters” is contagious. It’s a lot harder to ignore conservation campaigns to save habitat when you’ve seen the ‘photographic record’ of what happens when you do. It’s almost as good as finding the bird itself!

I’ve received letters and emails from a number of avid hunters who find the concept of shooting cranes repugnant.

How fertility control might be applied to millions of possums, especially in the face of evidence that trap neuter and release campaigns for cats achieve nothing useful in denting the numbers of cats, is not answered by these groups in any way I can see. In New Zealand at least public opinion is generally behind 1080.
