Many of the birds from Canada and the eastern United States travel over the Caribbean, or around the Gulf of Mexico, to winter in Central and South America.

Parking lots in Miami-Dade county offer a mostly standard assortment of birds compared to the rest of the United States. Its wintering range includes most of northern South America. However, they do not settle down and setup breeding territories at my local inland locations until the latter half of April.
