Chris Lotz, the owner of the international bird tour company Birding Ecotours , invited me to join him on a familiarization trip that included several highland sites as well as Pico Bonito Lodge.

This year is no different and the sod farms in Riverhead have been loaded with birds which means that the roads around them have been loaded with birders. The only thing that could have made the experience with Tryngites subruficollis better would have been some sunlight. What great little birds!
