Weekend Protest Against the Oregon National Primate Research Center

Animal rights activists stretched a 60-foot banner across the Hawthorne Bridge {Saturday} morning targeting the Oregon National Primate Research Center at OHSU. In support of National Primate Liberation Week, the Portland Animal Defense League hung a banner that read "OHSU: Stop Killing Monkeys Now!" From Oregonlive.

Week 29: The birds of Crater Lake National Park

The first part of this week finds us in south central Oregon, at one of the nation’s true gems, Crater Lake National park. Fortunately we were able to find a nice RV camp, in the nearby town of Crescent, Oregon, which allowed us to be at the park right after sunrise. o It is the second deepest lake in the Western Hemisphere.

Hart Mountain National Antelope Refuge

Growing up in central Oregon, allowed me to experience such a diverse amount of habitat, and the wildlife that resides there. For me, the real jewel of central Oregon is Hart Mountain National Antelope Refuge. This small group of Pronghorn Antelope were right at the refuge entrance. I guess they were the greeters!
