We soon added Sandstone Shrike-thrush to our 2020 bird list and it is a great place to find them without too much walking. A couple of crocodiles.

A Lake Reborn… sort of

Each of the dark marks in this photo from August, 2018 was a duck. And yet, less than halfway through our 2020-2021 winter dry season, Lake Cuitzeo had essentially dried up. In a normal year, I would report thousands of individual ducks at the lake from February through April; this year, I reported none.
