I tried to get a better idea of what exactly the definition of cuckoo-dove is but am still not very clear about it – Wikipedia only offers the rather formal definition “any of several species of bird in the genera Macropygia , Reinwardtoena, and Turacoena of the pigeon family.” But I may well be wrong.

Swamp Harrier There are still a lot of fish present, especially in the culverts that run under the highway and the Egrets and Herons continue to take advantage of the ample food. White-necked Heron Little Egret Australian Pelicans have arrived to feed on the fish and can be observed very close to the highway.

En route to our next stop we slowed down next to a park and spotted the now countable Egyptian Geese. Carlos even had a cooler in the trunk to keep the pie cool until we met up with my family! Green Pygmy-geese are often among the water lilies. An Australian Darter usually roosts on one of the islands or along the grassy edges and there are fish in the lake. The cormorant family are represented by the Little Black Cormorant and the Little Pied Cormorant. A Common Greenshank even dropped by recently! Radjah Shelduck.
