Both animal rights groups and animal welfare groups use "compassion" frequently. Then again, so do people who kill animals for a living. Compassion" has been so diluted that most people don't bat an eyelash at the idea of " compassionate carnivores." After all, they "love" the animals they kill. Is it fair? Is it just ?

Sorry, but I think someone who kills dogs like he did can't just change. That kind of lack of compassion and cruelty is just too cold blooded. Tags: Michael Vick. On March 19, 2009 a company representative emailed Compassion Over Killing: "…I am pleased to let you know the BOCA brand will be eliminating eggs in all of its products by the end of this year. Tags: battery hens eggs farm animal welfare. Totally missed this story from about a month ago.

I received an e-mail from the well-meaning Wendy at Compassion in World Farming (which I find an odd combination of words) regarding Egypt's pig cull and asking me to send my protest to the Egyptian Government. CIWF wants to "halt the brutal killing of these animals, and to ensure that they can be assured of a humane future."

In fact, both books glorify small farms (though Foer is more selective), and both have the support of people who create and kill animals. It's okay to produce animals to use them and then kill them (or kill them to use their parts as food). Tags: Books Ethics. it's "not eating animals.".

But they're already on a path of compassion and caring about those other than themselves, so in my experience they're the perfect people to gently nudge in the direction of concern for sentient nonhumans.
