Isla Isabel – Mexico’s Galapagos

Lastly, due to its previous inaccessibility to humans and the absence of natural predators, the wildlife is bizarrely unafraid of humans, allowing for a truly unforgettable experience.

In the High Arctic we find several migrating species that break that mould. This population’s breeding range is covers much of the Eastern Arctic, from northern Labrador up to Ellesmere, in as far west as the Kivaliq region (Rankin Inlet, Arviat). Nests are usually made in a sheltered cleft in rocks.

They breed after rain events and this was exactly the situation once again. The dam was very full and there were numerous species of birds present. The main difference was the reduced numbers of individual species and this would be because there was now other water sources after recent rains and the dam was not the only water about.
